נסיעה לחו"ל ,לחופשה מקומית, לשייט ימי בקיצור כל מה שמביא אותכן לשינה בחדר משותף , מצריך ובעיניי מחייב ! רשימת תיאום ציפיות מראש. שמעתי וחוויתי חווית נסיעות שלמדתי מהן את מה שאני יודעת היום . שיעור ראשון וחשוב שהפנמתי : לא לצאת בשלישיה! עדיף אחת טובה ,מאשר אחת טובה ושניה פחות. לזכור מ"שלוש יוצאת אחת" לפחות תדאגי שזאת לא תהיה את. מחייכת . שיעור שני להחליט לא להיות "חייבות כספים" מיד להחזיר. על קנית כרטיס רכבת ,ארוחה, או סתם "תני לי חמש יורו" מיד להתאפס. באם את מזמינה בכייף, אל תצפי שיחזירו לך בהזמנה , התייחסות לכסף לובשת כל מיני צורות שלפעמים לנו, שיש לנו את היחס שלנו לכסף, קשה לעכל או להבין. איך היא קונה מותג במחיר לא שפוי, כמובן בעיניך, ומצד שני, כמה יורו על קפה בישיבה היא לא תוציא. לא עניינך. על מה שעניינך, נדבר בהמשך. מה שעניינך כן הוא מה היא רמת המלון? האם להתפנק או להתבעס במלון מעפן כדי שיהיה כסף לקניות? אני אוהבת באמצע. אני באה ממקום שאני מאמינה שנסיעה עם חברה חייבת להיות בגדר " יו ... איזה כייף יהיה לנו ". מי שמכירה אותי יודעת , אני זורמת בזרם שלי, אני לא זורמת בכל זרם. יש לי ימבה של מינוסים: אני יכולה להיות מעצבנת ,חופרת , מבקרת חודרנית , מבטלת מקומות בקלות , מקשקשת עם זרים לעצבים של זאת לידי. אבל גם יש לי דברים חיוביים, לא מעשנת, לא מודדת חולצה בעשר יורו שעתיים. נוהגת בחו"ל , קוראת מפות , לפעמים מצחיקה ,שאלו את חברתי גילה לוי על צחוקים בחצות בחדר במלון. מביאה לטיולים את היותי שועל בותיק נסיעות. מומחית לקבלת חדר טוב יותר במלון עם טיפ שמן לאיש קבלה, שנקבל פינוק, מגיע לנו ! מסתדרת עם הרבה משונים, מזהה מצבים , אוהבת אנשים בכל מקום, איו לי מגבלות אכילה, לא כשר, לא צמחונית , לא שונאת פסטה או פיצה הלוואי ... לא "לומדת תפריטים", מכירות את האלו שעושות עבודת דוקטורט מהתפריט? מחזירות מנות, מתלוננות כרוניות .יו כמה אני שונאת. מסרבות לאכול במקום פושטי כי זה לא נראה להן, או חלילה קנית מצרכים לחדר במלון, מתה על פיקניק בחדר במלון. חברתי אילנה אלופה בזה. גם סופרת לי קלוריות הבת אלף. חזרה אלי : מטיילת רחובות אובססיבית , מלכת ההליכה בחו"ל , בתי קפה חמודים עם אינטרנט חופשי. כן חייבת להשאר מחוברת לפייסבוק ואינסטגרם . מביאה איתי לחדר במלון . ערכה לכייף , קצף אמבטיה מעולה מתחלקת איתו בשמחה, קלפים למשחק בשניים , מטהר אוויר, כן כן תתפלאו , מגבונים לחים , סרטים בערימות , אני מתה על סרטים בחצות . שירים שיהיה שמח מהאי טונס. לא מבזבזת זמן על קניות של שטויות. הכי חשוב מצלמת אותן בשפע. ובכל זאת מי לא תסע איתי ?או אני איתה... אנטרופולוגיה זה לא נושא שמעניין אותה. כמשמעותה לגבי : כל אדם שנקרא בדרכי ,יכול ללמד אותי משהו ולמה לא בעצם? והיא חמוצה לזרים. חסרת עצמאות מעשנת שותה חופשי אלכוהול ליד כוס המים שלי ומחלקת את החשבון "חצי חצי". חולת קניות אובססבית והכי גרוע: לא מחליטה אחרי עשרים מדידות. לא הולכת ברגל כי "זה רחוק , חם , קר , גשם זה קשה" . המצלמה שלי השימוש בה שלי מעצבן אותה ,אבל מבקשות שאני אצלם אותה מאה פעמים. לא מעניין אותה לחפש קפה עם אינטרנט חופשי. אותי זה מאד מעניין. קמצנית טייפים : במסעדות , או לאיש המזוודות או "למה לתת טייפ בארוחת בוקר? זה הרי כלול במחיר של המלון" אותי זה מרתיח. כן ,זה ענייני ,כי אני ישובה במסעדה ומגיע החשבון ,את לא תגידי לי "אני לא משאירה טייפ". זאת הפעם האחרונה שראית אותי ,אכלת איתי או נסעת איתי. ובכלל "רדי מאוטובוס חיי". המטאפורה שלי , שחיי הם אוטובוס מלא נוסעים ,עולים ויורדים ,תחנות קצרות ארוכות עם מסלול משתנה וכמובן שיש שיושבים ויש שעומדים שמחכים למישהו שירד. תמיד יש מישהו שיורד. מתלבשת שעות ,מתאפרת שעתיים. החדר במלון מבולגן "בשביל מה אני במלון ? שיסדרו לי" ובנתיים אני חיה איתה בדיר חזירים. בקיצור ,רשימה חשובה לעיון. לפני הטיול. מליסה האמריקאית~מתלבשות מתאפרות ומבלות באוניה .אין אין על שייט ימי חברתי אילנה ואני בבולוניה. גילה ואני ברומא קסום~ אין איו על הצחוקים עם דליה בן ארי. נסעו למלא מקומות בעולם ~תמיד משתוללות יחד~ חברתי קארין ההולנדית ,מעולם לא נסעתי איתה , אני מכירה אותה 32 שנה .אנחנו נוסעות לקרוז באוגוסט הקרוב. אז הבנתן בנות? מנטרה חייבת להאמר לפני הנסיעה "באנו לכייף ,נעביר הלאה מצבים ומילים" ובודאי לא נפרוץ בבכי ברכבת בדרך, כי אז אני פותחת ג'ורה כן, ברכבת. באם את מייללת ברכבת ,אני מוציאה את הטריפוליטאית שבי - מיד. מחייכת... למרות שזה היה ממש, אבל ממש לא מצחיק. יש לי רשימה חמודה , דווקא באנגלית ,של תיאום ציפיות , אני מקריאה , או שולחת לחברות הדוברות אנגלית שלי , הן צוחקות איתי לפני, אך עדיף מאשר נבכה אחר כך. נסיעה טובה בנות לא לשכוח : "באנו לכייף".

בביקורי האחרון בישראל הוזמנתי על ידי חברתי חגית , אמא מרים , אחות מיכל , בתה קים ובנה עוז .בקיצור,  המשפחה הירושלמית שלי ,לצהרים מושלמים במסעדה "דרך הגפן" במושב בית הזית שבאזור ירושלים. מושב קטן ואיכותי עם נדל"ן סופר יקר ,אנשים מעניינים רחובות קטנים והצבע השולט הוא הירוק. טוב, זה היה באפריל. אני מאוהבת במקומות שכאלו שיש בישראל, שמרגיש סופר חו"ל,  ועדין מה זה מקומי ומקסים. המקום שבבעלות סימה ולהב ובניצוחו של השף  המדהים והמוכשר, אילן ניב.  מרגיש מאד איטליה ,מאד צרפת, הישיבה מחולקת בין החצר הפסטורלית ,שכוללת גם משתלה צבעונית ומיוחדת.ואולם המרכזי  שהוא  בעצם הכניסה למקום שאפשר למצוא בו מגוון סגנונות ישיבה. בין שולחנות לשנים, ארבע ובין ספסלים  ארוכים למשפחות . אין תחושה של אחידות הכל אקלקטי. מין עירבוב חמים של טעם מיוחד שמשקף את טעם הבעלים. נראה לי כך... מדפים עמוסי מוצרי אוכל איטלקיים,   זיתים בשלל זנים, קופסאות שימורי עגבניות איטלקיות האמיתיות האלו,פסטות איכותיות, שמן זית מעולה. כמו בציור או במגזיני אוכל משובחים.  הכל בטוב טעם~ השף המדהים אילן הזמין למטבח לצפות בו ברגע סיום פינוק הניוקי סלק שהיה טעים משהו!. סימה , בעלת המקום, פינקה ללא הפסקה ובהחלט נתתה תחושה של אורחים רצויים למארחת חמה וחייכנית. קים בתה של חגית חטפה לי את המצלמה וצלמה למכביר. היא תתחיל לכתוב בקרוב פה. מבטיחה לכם משהו רענן~ והחתיך על הבר !! הורס אמיתי שמו אורררן ,לצערי אני לא יודעת באם זה במילעל או במילרע ~אני יודעת שזה לא האורן הרגיל....מחייכת אז סעו לירושלים, תעצרו בבית הזית ממול הדינוזרארים מזמן אחר. שווה. מסרו דרישת שלום ,אולי תקבלו פינוק... כבר מגיעים ממול יש מזכרת מימים עבר~ פעם היו פה: דינוזאורים~ אגודת בית זית~ [caption id="attachment_6388" align="alignleft" width="938" caption="מסעדה מקסימה מושב בית זית"][/caption] מה זה כייף לעבור בכניסה של המקום המקסים הזה. מרגיש כמו חו"ל מפנק ומזמין~ עוד אחת לאווירה~ רגוע שלו ופסטורלי~ האוויירה בפנים~ הכייף כולל חתיך הורס~ מחייכת שמו אורן  ~אוראאן הכניסה המכייפת~ נו....? גם להצטלם איתי הוא הסכים. אילן ניב הטעמים של הקינוחים מדהימים~ מה עוד נשאר?... אורחים מקסימים  לא? סתם ,ראו את קים מסתובבת עם המצלמה שלי וביקשו לצלם אותם~ אולי לראות את אילן בפעולה~ טעים טעים.. ניוקי סלק וגבינה~ ממשיכה לאחרון חביב~ עד לביקור הבא~ דש לכם .

'Until I Say Goodbye': Dying Mother Leaves Children Positive Lesson

Living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Spencer-Wendel, 46, embarked on a series of travels determined to make new memories to leave her family and friends. Although ALS, often referred to as  Lou Gehrig's disease, means the muscles in the body break down, Spencer-Wendel's mind remains sharp.  With a desire to continue to nurture her love of writing as long as possible, Spencer-Wendel chronicled her adventures in her book "Until I Say Goodbye."
From wedding dress shopping during a trip to New York with her teenage daughter, to a special cruise vacation with her sister, the memoir is an uplifting reminder to make the most of the time you have with the people you love.
We asked Spencer-Wendel's husband John to share a bit about what can all learn from Susan's strength:
It seems like Susan was able to find the strength to see the best in her situation — was it difficult to follow her example?
Susan absolutely is able to see the best in her situation.  In fact,  she often comments that although ALS has taken away her body it has left her mind untouched.  She is thankful she can still pursue her passion, writing.  Following her example is extremely hard.  Here I am caring for my  paralyzed, terminally ill wife facing the eventuality of having to raise three children by myself.  Tough to look on the bright side right?  But I can.  Our situation makes us appreciate each other all the more.  I am sure that we will be an example to our children of how people in an loving, committed relationship care for one another.
What is the most surprising thing you learned about your family during this ordeal?
I think what surprised me most is the resilience that our children have shown.  Susan and I didn't rush to tell the kids of her diagnosis. Why drop the bomb on them?   The progress of her disease was so slow and nearly imperceptible that they didn't seem to notice that Susan went from healthy and fit to unable to move and barely able to speak.  When they did ask if Mommy is going to die, I answered simply and honestly.  I think they already knew the answer, but were just confirming.  Their responses have been very matter of fact and accepting — like their mother's.  In fact my eleven-year-old son Aubrey recently told me that one of his teachers had spoken to the class about our situation on a day that he was absent from school.  Aubrey was upset and told me that he knows what's happening to mommy and doesn't need any special treatment from the other kids at school.
How has Susan responded to the support she is getting from strangers by sharing her story? 
She finds the support from strangers very uplifting.   Earlier this week as I was pushing Susan in her wheelchair on a sidewalk in downtown West Palm Beach, a woman walking the opposite direction stopped us and said, "You must be Susan.  I just want you to know that I read your book and it changed my life."  I don't think Susan stopped smiling until she fell asleep that night.
What was Susan's best or favorite memory from the cruise she took with her sister?
Susan said that the best part of the cruise was the opportunity for her and Stephanie to just talk without any interruptions or distractions.  Even though we lived on the same street as Stephanie, it seemed that kids, work, and crazy schedules kept them from having any time alone to just talk.
Can you offer any advice to someone trying to cope with saying goodbye to a loved one?
The best advice I can give is to make sure you tell that person exactly how you feel about her or him, because you may not get the chance to say goodbye.  I had a conversation with a friend of mine whose husband died in a bicycle accident.  We were discussing which is worse, to have your spouse taken from you suddenly or to have the chance to say goodbye. ( We decided that they are both equally awful). She told me that she takes solace in the fact that her husband died knowing exactly how she felt about him, and he her.

it is my hope and dream not  to know when i am about to go. yet again if i will have  a chance to get notice from the universe that my days are numbered i will do much of what susan did.

i want as many people to know that tel aviv is just a great city.
i can be in my place and do nothing but watch the building next to mine and will be ok.
leaving in two days. kind of sad. but yet again how can i be sad if i am leaving to go to 15 days cruise on panama canal with my love albert? miss my boys ariel and jordan.

My hubby is a professional baseball player and I am due with our son in July. My nursery theme is elegant baby boy with a touch of baseball. The furn I ordered is the Jourdin collection in vintage butter creme from RH baby & child, the colors in the room will be baby blue, silver and creme for the most part. I have an amazing baseball fabric I Am going to use to tie in baseball in drapes n pillows etc but now I need the perfect bedding? Do u have a suggestion? Also it's hard for me to tell exactly what colors a in ur bedding online, am I missing a section that Explains materials, fabric and colors? I love Thomas, Jacob and ivory and blue silk so far. Please let me know ur thoughts and if u have any suggestions.
